Heather Forbes, is the owner of the Beyond Consequences Institute (BCI). She has worked in the field of trauma and healing since 1999. Heather is an internationally published author on the topics of raising children with difficult and severe behaviors, the impact of trauma on the developing child, adoptive motherhood, and self-development. Much of her experience and insight on understanding trauma, disruptive behaviors, and adoption-related issues comes from her direct mothering experience of her two adopted children.

International Child Foundation
We work with adoptive families for international and domestic infant adoption and provide home study services. Principle international programs are Mexico, Burundi and Burkina Faso. We also assist with relative adoption from Ethiopia via a Hague Accredited, Non-profit agency licensed in Arizona. You will have access to an online or telephone conference call with Maria Spencer, LCSW, CAC III. A few of the issues families may encounter with their child are: grief and loss, attachment, feelings of abandonment, identity development and in some cases loss of their cultural self. This conference is free of charge to current families. All others there is a fee of $50.00 per hour for counseling
